Rx: COURSE MANUAL

SARGA Rx Level 1: Course Manual

Hey SargaRx friends, here is the Sarga Rx 3-Series sequences we promised. This manual is a work in progress....we will keep you posted as we flesh it out over the next few months. In the meantime, we are your manual: please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding this material! We are passionate about this work and are invested in your successful application these techniques.

It was a lot of material to cover in 3 days (we are considering making it a 4-day class or lengthening the class days to 6-hrs instead of 5), so if we moved too fast through any of the concepts and material we are here to answer your questions and to hold your hands (& feet) if you need guidance :). We are also interested in mentoring anyone with structural bodywork inclinations who decides to primarily use SargaRx work on the floor-based setup in his/her practice.

For questions and convo please email Dan@SargaBodywork.com, post them on the FB Grad page, or it there is enough votes we will make a separate Rx FB account. Let us know the best way to support you in your practice!

Be in touch,
Daniel & Jiva

P.S.

More emphasis:)) SargaRx is not a passive massage technique. It is specifically intended to keep recipients awake and above a parasympathetic state. Keep your clients engaged with questions and movement ques that increase body-awareness, anatomical knowledge (without being preachy), or simply conversation peppered with movement ques. *(see side note below). Have your client get up and move frequently to experience and "signature" the changes. Ask him/her for feedback (She/he may not necessarily register any changes until you ask targeted questions or compare ROM before/after an input (sometimes I get my client up more than 5x per session). You should be able to witness nearly instant results and relief in your clients...This work is profoundly effective! I think that sometimes with passive massage technique, results aren't as long lasting because the clients' nervous system was not awake enough to register the changes, and as therapists we miss out on witnessing how effective and instant our techniques truly are.

If you are a therapist with a longstanding practice of easing your clients into parasympathetic bliss, then SargaRx is a different paradigm altogether. It might be hard to give up your massage flow and your quiet time! Remember that there is also the option of using Rx technique in the beginning of a session, then finishing with massage. Im not wanting to discount the powerfully therapeutic and necessary benefits of deep parasympathetic bliss, but the amazing tools at the tips of our toes are just begging to be used for structurally-minded, active-release, myofascial techniques....SargaRx!

*Side note: It was a massage therapist that first told me that my scapula was floating in soft tissue and that its only bony attachment was at the S/C joint. I was blown away and also angry that I had been taught the territories of foreign countries in school before the basic anatomical territory of my own body. That concept changed the way I related to my body, my body mechanics, and my injured shoulder! It was a catalyst for healing (and a career decision) that I am forever thankful to that LMT for.
